Mechanical Design Engineer

£28,000 - £32,000 (dependant on experience)
My client is an internationally recognised market leader in the innovative design of materials handling systems and air pollution control systems for the power industry. Due to continuous growth, they are now looking for a motivated, flexible Mechanical Engineer to join their team.
Reporting to the Engineering Manager, your duties will include:
• Equipment / plant layouts for materials handling and air pollution control equipment
• Product design
• Pipe / conveyor route design, loadings and layout
• Pipe / conveyor support structure design, loadings and layout
• Silo design, loadings and layout
• Structural design
• Manage, organise and control the design and provision of cost effective engineering solutions from proposal stage through to completion
• Providing technical support to various areas of the business including sales, customer liaison and site work
• Reviewing and interpreting customer specification and drawings, assisting with detailed site surveys where required
• Prepare, specify and manage outsourced engineering packages as required
• Prepare mechanical arrangement and detailed CAD drawings
• Liaising with mechanical installation contractors during the site construction process if required
About You/Essential Requirements
• Sound mechanical engineering design skills
• The ability to generate practical and innovative designs
• High level of IT literacy, particularly in CAD (AutoCAD/Autodesk Inventor)
• The ability to communicate clearly in English, both verbally and in writing
• Adept at analysing technical problems and providing quick effective solutions
• Self starting decision maker with the ability to manage your own work schedule
Package
• Salary, £28,000 - £32,000 (dependant on experience)
• Contributory pension scheme
• Some overseas travel will be required
