We are looking for an enthusiastic and dynamic Estimator to join our Construction Division on a full-time basis (40 hours per week).
The Estimator will be responsible for accurately calculating the total costs associated with a construction project. This role requires meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work effectively under pressure.
The ideal candidate will have a positive and pro-active attitude along with a desire to grow and develop within a privately owned and secure business.

- Initial appraisal of the tender opportunity for accuracy and completeness.
- Development of a measurement and pricing strategy.
- Attendance at opportunity launch, mid-tender, settlement, and handover meetings.
- Attending site visits with pre-construction team members.
- Preparation of proposed supply chain enquiry schedules in conjunction with the commercial and construction team.
- Pre-enquiry communication with key supply chain partners.
- Sending out supply chain enquiries utilising ConQuest Estimating software.
- Internal take off and measurement utilising Bluebeam/ On Sight software.
- Internal BOQ production utilising ConQuest Estimating software.
- Maintain working relationships with our local and national supply chains.
- Coordinating pricing in conjunction with design information provided and consider alternatives.
- Undertaking subcontractor and material supplier quotation analysis, ensuring compliance and competitiveness and providing comparisons.
- Undertaking fixed price analysis.
- Preparing job pricing comparisons and resources for settlement meetings.
- Completion of project CSA.
- Assisting with the Contractors Proposals and PQQ Submissions as required.
Essential requirements:
- A minimum of 5 years’ experience at an estimator level, in the construction industry and conversant with standard operating procedures and methods
- A bachelor’s degree in construction would be desirable
- Good commercial awareness

- Experience in varying market sectors, ideally in care homes, schools, industrial / logistics and refurbs
- Collaborative approach with colleagues in estimating and other departments
- Ability to run own jobs
- Effective communication and negotiation skills
- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
- Excellent customer service skills
- Full UK driving licence, with willingness to travel
