Hours of Work: 7:00am - 5:00pm, 5 days per week (some weekend working required for servicing)
We are looking for an experienced Mobile Plant Fitter to join our team on a permanent basis. This is a site-based position where you will be responsible for servicing, maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing a wide range of heavy mobile plant equipment.
Although the machinery is mobile, this is not a field service role. The successful candidate will be based on one site, carrying out planned maintenance and repairs to keep equipment operating safely and efficiently.
Please note: This position is not suitable for car mechanics. We require an experienced heavy mobile plant engineer with proven knowledge of construction, waste, recycling, or industrial plant machinery.
As a Plant Engineer, you will be responsible for:
- Service, maintain and repair heavy mobile plant equipment.
- Diagnose and rectify mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
- Use manufacturer diagnostic software to identify and resolve issues.
- Repair engines, hydraulic systems, rams and axles.
- Carry out welding and fabrication repairs where required.
- Perform routine servicing and preventative maintenance.
- Ensure all work is completed safely and in line with company standards.
- Maintain accurate service and repair records.

Experience working on the following equipment is essential:
- Loading Shovels
- 360 Grabs
- Forklift Trucks (FLT)
- Telehandlers
- Other heavy mobile plant
The ideal candidate:
- Proven experience as a Heavy Mobile Plant Fitter/Engineer.
- Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
- Experience using plant diagnostic software.
- Excellent knowledge of diesel engines, hydraulics and electrical systems.
- Competent in repairing hydraulic rams and axles.
- Welding and fabrication experience.
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively.
- Full UK driving licence preferred.
