We are recruiting a hands-on Senior BMU Engineer to join a national team, with a clear focus on site-based delivery.
This is a site-led position, where most of your time will be spent actively delivering, managing, and improving work on live projects. You will take a leading role in installing, maintaining, and commissioning BMU systems, while also driving site performance, supervising teams, and contributing to the expansion of our façade access operations.
As a BMU Engineer, you will be responsible for:

Deliver hands-on installation, maintenance, inspection, repair, and commissioning of BMU systems and façade access equipment

Take ownership of site activities, ensuring safe, efficient, and high-quality delivery on every project

Lead and supervise small site teams and subcontractors, driving performance and maintaining standards

Play a key role in developing and strengthening the façade access division, improving processes, quality, and capability

Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and control faults with a practical, solutions-focused approach

Support wider contracting teams with fall protection and access system installations, contributing to overall site delivery

Maintain a strong site presence, resolving issues in real time and ensuring work progresses effectively

Manage site documentation, reporting, and updates via ERP systems and project tools

Act as a client-facing representative on site, attending meetings, providing updates, and ensuring expectations are met

Produce and implement RAMS and safe systems of work, ensuring full compliance with health & safety standards
The ideal candidate:

Minimum 5 years’ experience with BMU systems or façade access equipment (or equivalent industry)

Proven ability in hands-on site delivery and technical problem-solving (mechanical & electrical)

Experience as a working supervisor or site manager, leading teams on active projects

Strong preference for working on-site in a practical, delivery-focused role

Confident working at height and using specialist access equipment

Demonstrable experience coordinating site activities and driving progress

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

Strong understanding of health & safety, RAMS, and site compliance

Effective client-facing communication skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office, and site reporting apps

Full UK driving licence
