We are looking for an experienced Manual Machinist to join a growing manufacturing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for producing high-quality machined components using conventional machine tools, supporting the manufacture of bespoke engineering equipment.

This is a hands-on role requiring experience operating manual centre lathes and other conventional machinery while working accurately from technical engineering drawings.

As a Manual Machinist, you will be responsible for:

  • Set up and operate manual centre lathes to manufacture precision components.
  • Operate manual milling machines and workshop press equipment where required.
  • Read and interpret technical and engineering drawings.
  • Carry out routine maintenance and daily checks on workshop machinery.
  • Maintain a clean, safe and organised working environment.
  • Work closely with fabrication, assembly and engineering teams to meet production deadlines.
  • Follow all Health & Safety procedures and company quality standards.

The ideal candidate will be:

  • Proven experience as a Manual Machinist.
  • Strong experience operating manual centre lathes.
  • Experience using manual milling machines and/or press machinery.
  • Ability to confidently read and interpret technical engineering drawings.
  • Experience working to close tolerances.
  • Competent using precision measuring equipment.
  • Good understanding of machining principles, materials and tooling.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work.
