Job Title: HSE Advisor

Location: Doncaster, on site.

Job type: Full time, Permanent.

Pay: £35,000 - £38,000 (DOE)  

Hours: Monday – Friday, 8am – 5pm 

We are seeking an experienced HSE Advisor, who will play a key role in promoting a positive safety culture across a well-established business. He successful candidate will support the operational teams to work safely and compliantly, ensuring the company meets its legal and regulatory health, safety, and environmental obligations. This is a hands-on role that will involve travel between the Doncaster head office and other operational sites. 

As an HSE Advisor, you will be responsible for:

  • Support the development, implementation, and review of health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures
  • Carry out site inspections, audits, and risk assessments across depots and operational sites
  • Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses, producing reports and recommending corrective actions
  • Deliver toolbox talks, safety briefings, and training to staff and site teams
  • Monitor and advise on compliance with current H&S legislation and industry best practice
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, audits, training, and incidents
  • Support the business in maintaining accreditations and compliance certifications
  • Liaise with site managers, drivers, and operational staff to embed a strong safety culture
  • Assist with the preparation of method statements and risk assessments (RAMS)
  • Keep up to date with changes in HSE legislation and communicate relevant updates to the business

The ideal candidate will be:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (essential)
  • Proven experience in a similar HSE Advisor or Health & Safety role, ideally within construction, quarrying, logistics, or a similar industrial environment
  • Full UK driving licence (essential) - this role requires travel between sites
  • Strong working knowledge of UK health and safety legislation
  • Excellent communication skills, with the confidence to engage with staff at all levels, from drivers and site operatives through to senior management
  • Strong organisational skills with good attention to detail
  • IT literate, comfortable producing reports and maintaining records
