Our client is a national M&E contractor operating within the construction industry. They are currently looking for an established Health and Safety Manager with customer-facing experience to join their team.

This is a full-time, permanent position and will be based out of their head office in West Yorkshire.

Overall Purpose:

·        Develop the existing H&S system, write, and implement H&S procedures and policies as appropriate.

·        Provide a practical and positive approach towards implementing safe working practices.

·        Facilitate the risk management processes throughout the business.

·        Monitor and report on H&S performance throughout the business.

 

Key Duties:

·        Undertake site inspections and follow up reports. Ensure the implementation of corrective recommendations.

·        Lead on accident investigations and provide recommendations for preventative measures through the development and distribution of incident reports. Liaise with insurers where required.

·        Lead on the company training programme.

·        Assist management to identify safety related training needs for operational personnel and assist/mentor in the delivery of training.

·        Maintain current knowledge and understanding in all areas of health and safety legislation.

·        Lead on SHEQ company initiatives and improvement opportunities.

·        Produce appropriate documentation such as safe systems of work and risk assessments where required.

·        Be an active member of project teams and collaborate with client’s and other contractors where required.  

 

Experience & Requirements Needed:

·        NEBOSH Diploma or degree level qualification is essential.

·        CMIOSH (Grad IOSH would be considered)

·        Highly proficient in ICT.

·        Valid UK driving licence.

·        Willingness to travel throughout the UK, occasionally at short notice.

·        Proven continuous professional development (CPD)

·        Experience of working in contracting.
