Mechanical Fitting Supervisor

Are you an experienced Mechanical Fitter ready to step up and lead a team? We're looking for a Mechanical Fitting Supervisor to join our clients Doncaster site.

As a Fitting Supervisor, you'll lead a team of Mechanical Fitters in the production, maintenance, servicing and assembly of high-quality industrial machinery. You'll make sure work is completed safely, on time and to the highest standard, and you'll still be hands-on with fitting work yourself. This is a fully site-based role with no travel required.

As a Fitting Supervisor, you will be responsible for:

• Supervise, organise and motivate a team of Mechanical Fitters, allocating tasks and managing daily workloads
• Work hands-on alongside the team on the shop floor, carrying out fitting, assembly and maintenance tasks as part of the daily role
• Provide support and technical guidance to fitters
• Plan and coordinate fitting activities to meet production schedules, project deadlines and customer requirements
• Carry out and oversee fitting tasks to assemble components and parts for industrial machinery
• Interpret engineering drawings and specifications, and make sure the team works accurately and precisely to them
• Carry out quality checks and inspections to ensure all work meets required standards before sign-off
• Act as the main point of contact between the fitting team, production, engineering and project management
• Report on progress, issues and resource needs to management

The Ideal candidate will be:

• Proven experience as a Mechanical Fitter, preferably in the manufacture of industrial machinery
• Previous experience in a supervisory, chargehand or team leader role
• Strong ability to read and interpret technical drawings
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing high-quality work
• Good understanding of health and safety practices in an engineering environment
• Excellent leadership, organisational and communication skills
• Ability to solve problems, make decisions and manage priorities under pressure
