As a leading recruitment agency in Doncaster, we work with lots of businesses and speak with lots of directors. As part of our role, we get to know these businesses on a deeper level; building those meaningful relationships also means learning new truths.

Behind the LinkedIn success stories and business awards, every business has had its struggles, and sometimes those struggles are the most vital times to remind you how you pushed through. On 16 October 2025, Austin Banks Recruitment will be co-hosting The Truth Behind Business alongside Kurt from Be More L&D.
This isn’t a “networking event,” nor is it a “business conference,” but instead an honest, peer-led community builder. 1 room, 30 business owners, all discussing their struggles, strengths, and stories. By creating an honest environment for these topics, as businesses we can provide solutions and help each other grow.

Our “why” behind this
This event didn’t happen overnight. It grew from conversations with clients and connections across Doncaster.
As recruiters with strong relationships all across Doncaster businesses, we hear about challenges businesses face every day: staffing, financials, government changes, employee wellbeing, and more. While we do what we can to help, we realise there’s only so much a recruitment agency can do.
It got us thinking, what if there was a space where business owners could turn for advice, solutions, and support?
A space for business owners, across all different industries, sharing different expertise, offering each other helpful solutions and naturally, building connections and opportunities for one another. That’s the heart of this event.
